Q: Why isn't the sticker placed at the top of the board and why so far back?...

A:When a surfer is sitting on the board at rest waiting for waves, the top of the board is actually out of the water due to the weight of the surfer. The sticker itself is 790mm x 410mm and designed to be placed close to the fins of the board so it is not at any time out of the water and always visible to the shark.
